What machines are used to apply wet glue labels?

Wet Glue Labels 1 min read Updated October 1, 2026

Wet glue labels are typically applied using dedicated wet-glue labelling machines that pick individual labels from a stack, apply adhesive to the reverse, and position them onto the container. Equipment ranges from semi-automatic systems to high-speed rotary labellers used on large beverage and bottling lines.

The correct machine depends on container shape, label dimensions, production speed, adhesive system, and required placement accuracy. High-volume breweries, distilleries, beverage manufacturers, and similar operations generally use automated equipment integrated into the filling and packaging line.

Label dimensions, grain direction, paper stiffness, moisture response, and cutting accuracy should also be compatible with the application equipment. A label that prints correctly but does not feed reliably through the labeller can still create significant production problems.
