How do I choose the right security label for my product?
The right security label depends on what the product needs protection from, such as counterfeiting, unauthorised opening, label removal, diversion, warranty fraud, or duplication. Different threats require different security technologies.
Holograms provide an easily visible authentication feature, VOID and destructible labels reveal removal attempts, UV inks provide covert verification, and unique QR codes or serial numbers support item-level authentication and track-and-trace. Higher-risk products often combine several of these features rather than relying on one technology.
The choice should therefore begin with a risk assessment: who needs to verify the product, what equipment they can use, how sophisticated the counterfeit threat is, and whether physical tamper evidence, digital authentication, or both are required.
