What is the minimum order quantity for custom security labels?

Security & Anti-Counterfeit Labels 1 min read Updated October 3, 2026

The MOQ for custom security labels depends on the security technology, dimensions, material, printing process, custom tooling, variable data requirements, and quantity required. A standard serialised QR label has very different production requirements from a proprietary hologram requiring custom origination.

Custom security features can involve initial setup or tooling costs, which means larger production quantities are generally more economical on a per-label basis. Combining holographic, tamper-evident, covert, and serialised elements can also change the viable production quantity.

Brands should therefore provide the required security features, label dimensions, application surface, annual or batch volume, and authentication requirements before the appropriate MOQ and production method are determined.
