What labeling requirements apply to logistics and cargo shipping labels?
Logistics and cargo labels need to remain readable, securely attached, and machine-scannable throughout warehousing, handling, transport, sorting, and final delivery. Typical information can include tracking numbers, barcodes or QR codes, shipment identification, destination details, handling instructions, and other carrier or regulatory information.
Material and adhesive selection should match the surface being labelled, such as corrugated cartons, polybags, stretch wrap, plastic crates, or pallets. Labels may also need resistance to abrasion, moisture, temperature changes, and rough conveyor handling.
International or regulated shipments can have additional carrier, customs, dangerous-goods, or destination-specific requirements. The applicable rules should therefore be confirmed for the product, transport mode, carrier, and destination rather than relying on one universal shipping-label format.
